Elliott
Henshaw

Elliott is one of the UK’s top jazz-fusion drummers whose versatility is exceptional. His quintet contains some of the best musicians on the jazz, funk, fusion scene, as will become evident when you see them live!

Elliott’s experience ranges from playing with Ray Gelato, The Laurie Holloway Trio, Dame Shirley Bassey, Alison Moyet, as well as numerous big bands such as The BBC Big Band, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The Ronnie Scotts Big Band as well as the great Bob Mintzer from the Yellow Jackets. He has demonstrated his versatility by backing Deep Purple for good measure!

In 1999 Myla joined forces with another artist, Susie Hopwood, to form SPANDEX, a dance act whose debut song “Girls Like Us” was on the soundtrack of the UK film “The Van Boys”.

In 2000 Myla recorded a dance track “Hypnotised”. The song generated such positive reaction that further mixes and 3 more dance songs were recorded including “Reveal Yourself”, and a brilliant cover of Cutting Crew’s classic song “Died in Your Arms”, both of which went to No.1 in the Dance Charts. “Hypnotised” was also released on vinyl and was a sellout in the UK.

The result of all this success resulted in the Concorde Agency, London put MYLA on tours and gigs with artists such as Blue, LibertyX, Sonique, Atomic Kitten, Fragma, the Real Thing. A trip to New York late 2001 brought offers of releases for “Hypnotised” from U.S. label Strictly Rhythm amongst others.

Next for Myla came support on Louise Redknapp’s 2001-2 UK tour where she wowed audiences wherever she performed, making a great impact not least with Louise Redknapp and her band. Her e.p. “Hypnotised” and then album “Remixed” was put on iTunes in 2005-6.
